Faye Fletcher is from West Derby in Liverpool. With her sister Lydia and mum & dad, Dawn & Paul, they stayed at Donna's Dream House recently. This is the message Faye's mum sent us afterwards:
On the 12th April 2010 we arrived in Blackpool to start a five-day holiday at Donas Dream House. It was the first holiday we have had since Faye was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia in March 2009 when she was nine years old. It was a devastating time for all the family, especially our daughter Lydia who is 22 months older than Faye. When the Oncology consultant told us our daughter had Leukemia I thought I would not get through the next 24 hours, I would never smile again. I had to for Faye - she is our inspiration. I did get through the next 24 hours then the next and so on. We did all smile again thanks to wonderful people who support families like ours.
On the Tuesday Alan from Donna's Dream House told Faye he had a surprise for her at 1pm that day. I cant begin to tell you how excited she was when a Cinderella carriage with Silver the horse arrived to take Faye on a ride up and down Blackpool's prom, she was so excited and told me she was a very lucky little girl. Tears are running down my face as I am typing this but I am smiling too. I hope lots of little girls who stay at Donna's Dream house get to experience a ride in a Cinderella carriage pulled by a lovely horse like Silver. It was only through the kindness of a couple who are trying to earn a living but wanted to give something back to children with life threatening illness. Thank you to all of you from the bottom of my heart.
Blackpool Council should be so very proud of all the wonderful people who brought happiness to Faye Fletcher and family.
