THANK YOU!

Worshipful Master Bro. Geoffrey Barker of Ashlar Lodge No 5154 in Blackpool is pictured presenting a cheque for £500 to Chairman Len Curtis MBE in the playroom at Donna's Dream House.

Many thanks to all who made this possible.

We would love to thank everybody who helps us to keep Donna's dream alive on this page, but that would be an impossible task. Please be assured that every gift we accept is gratefully received.

North Fylde Group of Freemasons made a visit to Donna’s Dream House on behalf of lodges who meet in Cleveleys and Fleetwood to donate £500 towards helping terminally ill children have a special holiday by the seaside.

The cheque was handed over by North Fylde Group Chairman, Harry Cox and colleagues and was received by Len Curtis.

Thanking Harry and the Masons for their contribution Len said it would help with several projects currently on the drawing board.

THANK YOU!

This website page is not big enough to thank all the many organisations and individuals whose donations make it possible to keep Donna's Dream alive.

We have been overwhelmed by the generosity shown by our supporters.

In a time when many charities are struggling to survive, Donna's Dream House has found it possible to extend and improve on the work we do.

We try to acknowledge every donation we receive, but it is possible that we might have missed one or two. Please be assured that every gift is appreciated.

Also, we have a band of hardworking trustees, fundraisers, clerical and maintenance workers - all of them volunteers. Without these dedicated people we could not bring such joy to the children and their families who stay with us.

The BLACKPOOL ASSOCIATION SUPPORTERS IN LONDON, (BASIL FC), have raised more than £1,100 for Donna's Dream House. The team, headed by James Duckworth, completed a 10km fun run at Battersea Park wearing specially designed Seasiders T-shirts. They raised £1,723 through sponsorship (particularly from DB Housing). Half that sum will go to Donna’s Dream House and the other half will help the Pool supporters’ football team that James and his friends run in London. The cash has been boosted by Gift Aid, meaning that over £1,102 goes to Donna’s Dream House.

THE CO-OPERATIVE FUNERALCARE at Gilesgate in Durham City organise many community events. Recently Christine Routledge organised a spiritualist night at Thornley Working Men's Club, with mediums Peter Crawford and Irene Wilson. The Club and the mediums made no charge for their services, and a superb £600.00 was raised for Donna's Dream House. Grateful thanks to all who helped or supported the event.

Marathon Oil UK Ltd have been operating three production platforms in the Brae Field over the last 25 years. Safety is their primary objective in delivering oil and gas from the Brae Field. Over the last 13 years they have had several initiatives

for recognising safety performance and achieveing certain goals. One initiative is the charity award scheme which donates funds to charities nominated by members of the workforce. Funding is based on Lost Time Accident (LTA) free periods which gives donations for each 0.5 million man-hours without LTA, or each quarter without a High Potential Incident. In 2009 Brae Bravo went through the 2nd quarter without a High Potential Incident and as a result £2500 was made available to a charity nominated by the workforce. The Platform Safety Committee make a final selection based on the size of the charity (where £2.5k or £5k will make a difference) and generally linked to children. On this occasion the nominee for ‘Donna’s Dream House’ was John Murphy of BIS Salamis. Funding is supplied by the Brae Contractors Alliance which is made up of Marathon Oil and its main contractors who supply personnel to run the installations. We are very grateful for this fantastic gift.

Tesco's in Blackpool re-opened in November 2008 after a refurbishment.

They very generously donated £1,000 to Donna's Dream House, and the photograph shows the presentation.

Len and Barbara Curtis are pictured in April 2008 receiving a cheque from the Land Registry, who raised a fantastic sum of £7797.17 for Donna's Dream House.

We are so grateful for this fantastic gesture.

WALK & WADE!

John Farrell walked and waded in a straight line from Blackpool to Buttermere in the Lake District. Some of the wading became swimming as the water was very deep, but he made it and raised £6,000.00 in sponsorship for Donna's Dream House.

Thank you, John, and all who helped or supported you!
